Two held for making fake sanitary napkins
CID has arrested two people on charge of producing sanitary napkins with sub-standard materials and selling those under name of a foreign brand.
The arrestees are: Azim Uddin (35), and Golam Rahman (32). Based on a complaint, a team of CID carried out a raid at Mirpur-2 area in the capital on Monday and arrested the duo. Law enforcers also seized 2,200 packs of fake "Whisper" sanitary napkin in 40 cartons from their factory, said a press release. The sub-standard pads can lead to cervical cancer, the press release said, citing experts.
