Students seek PM’s intervention to cancel upcoming O, A-level exams
Some English medium students today sought Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's intervention to cancel the upcoming O and A-level examinations.
A group of students -- representing O and A-level candidates -- urged authorities concerned not to hold the exams in the October-November session in Bangladesh during the coronavirus pandemic as it will put them at severe health risk. The students made the call at a press conference arranged at Crime Reporters' Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) in the capital this noon.
They have asked authorities to go for predicted grading system as they don't want a gap in their education.
Educational boards which arrange exams globally decided not to hold the exams for the May-June session due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
"We want Prime Minister and Education Minister's intervention for cancellation of exams in this evolving coronavirus crisis," Chowdhury Shamsuzzaman, an A-level examinee, said at the press conference.
They also said, sitting for an exam while wearing a mask will stress them out even more.
