Mother and 8-year-old son found murdered in Ctg
A mother and her eight-year-old son were murdered in Shamsher Para area under Chandgaon Police Station of Chattogram city tonight.
The deceased were identified as Gul Nahar Begum (33), wife of Shahidullah, and her son Rifat (8), said police.
Gul Nahar was stabbed in the abdomen while her son's throat was found partially slit, our Chattogram correspondent reports quoting police.
Bijoy Basak, deputy commissioner (North Zone) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) said Gul Nahar's daughter, who is an RMG worker, found the bodies after she returned to the residence from her workplace around 8:00pm.
Gul Nahar had been living separately with her 15-year-old daughter and son Rifat for seven years after her ex-husband married another woman, added the DC.
Bijoy Basak said Nahar used to live with her daughter and son in a rented tin-shed house while one Faruk also lives with the family as a tenant. The woman used to cook biriyani and Faruk sold those in Bahaddarhat area.
Police found the woman's body inside the bathroom while her son was killed in the kitchen room, he said.
After the incident, Faruk has gone into hiding and police are looking for him, the DC added.
On information, different law enforcers, including CID and Rab, rushed to the spot, added our correspondent.
