Man held with 1.30 lakh yaba pills
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7) in a drive yesterday arrested an alleged drug peddler with 1.30 lakh yaba pills from Anwara upazila of Chattogram.
The arrestee is Md Alauddin (27) from the upazila's Paschim Raipur area.
Nurul Absar, assistant director of Rab-7's media wing, said they had information that a huge consignment of yaba was going to be unloaded at Gohira Bazar.
"When Rab-7 personnel reached there, two people started running but law enforcers caught one of them. Based on his confession, they dug out the pills -- hidden behind a shop," said Absar.
During primary interrogation, Rab found that peddlers smuggled the drugs from Myanmar via Bay of Bengal, he said. A case was filed.
