International seminar on cultural heritage held at NSU
The inaugural session of a seminar on “Protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage in China and Bangladesh” was held on the capital’s North South University (NSU) campus on Tuesday.
The two-day international seminar was jointly organised by NSU and Yunnan University, China, said a press release.
Among the attendees were Prof He Ming, director, Yunnan University, China; Prof Abdur Rob Khan, dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, NSU; Prof Sk Tawfique M Haque, chair, Department of Political Science and Sociology, NSU; and Dr Mahmudur Rahman Bhuiyan, director, Confucius Institute, NSU. Professor Atiqul Islam, vice-chancellor, NSU, chaired the session.
In his speech, Prof Ming said Bangladesh and China have a long history. People of the two countries have created a bridge in intangible cultural heritage and made outstanding contributions to the construction of the human spiritual world, he added.
