A fire broke out at a kitchen market in Malibagh area of Dhaka early today. The fire originated at a shop in Malibagh kitchen market around 5:27 am, said Jewel Ahmed, operator at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.

Thirteen units of firefighters brought the blaze under control after over an hour of their efforts around 6:35 am, he told The Daily Star.

No casualties were reported and the reason behind the blaze could not be known immediately.
