Elderly man dies in road accident at Dhaka’s Kuril Bishwa Road

A 70-year-old man was killed after a bus hit him at Dhaka's Kuril Bishwa Road area early this morning.

The deceased was identified as Mohor Ali, a security guard.

The accident happened around 6:00am when Mohor along with his wife Anwara Begum was crossing the road to catch a bus to go to his village home in Mymensingh.

Anwara safely crossed the road but her husband, who was walking behind, was hit by a speeding bus -- leaving him critically injured, she said.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The bus driver sped away after the accident.

DMCH police outpost in-charge Bachchu Mia said the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy.
