Dr Mizanur passes away
Dr Mizanur Rahman, former director general of Directorate General of Health Services and a freedom fighter, passed away at Square Hospital in Dhaka on Monday night, aged 73, said a press release.
He had been suffering from chronic kidney disease and other old-aged complications.
Born in 1948 in Shyampur Miapara in Chapainawabganj, he served as the principal of Rajshahi Medical College and Sir Salimullah Medical College.
Dr Mizanur was also the director of Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research.
A regimental medical officer during the Liberation War, Dr Mizanur also fought on the frontline.
