Prosecution witness Najmul Ahsan yesterday told a Dhaka court that he along with some people, rushed to the office of Jagriti Prokashani at Aziz Market and found the office door locked at around 3:50pm on October 31, 2015.
“At one stage, we unlocked the door and saw Dipan’s bloody body on the floor,” said Najmul, president of Aziz Cooperative Super Market Shop Owners’ Association.
“Then I informed police [of Shahbagh station] about the incident,” he added.
Jagriti Prokashani manager Alauddin Mia, also a prosecution witness, told the court that he saw the bloody body of Dipan at the same time.
After that, law enforcers came to the spot and collected the evidence, he said.
“On November 1 that year, I went to Shahbagh Police Station in this regard,” Alauddin added.
Another prosecution witness Mostofa Salim also gave his statement before the court.
Judge Md Majibur Rahman of the Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal of Dhaka recorded statements of the trio in a case filed over the murder of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan in November 2015 after the defence lawyers and the accused Sheikh Abdullah cross-examined them.
The court set December 29 for the next hearing.
