Dhaka-Narayanganj rail link restored after 7 hours
Train communication between Dhaka and Narayanganj has been restored after around seven and half hours due to derailment of a commuter train in the morning.
A compartment of the Dhaka-bound metre-gauge train veered off the tracks in Ukilpara area of Narayanganj city around 10:30am, suspending the city's rail link with the capital, said Golam Mostafa, station master of Narayanganj Central Railway Station.
The train communication resumed around 6:00pm soon after the derailed compartment of the train was brought on the line, he told our Narayanganj correspondent.
Earlier, on Thursday, four compartments of another metre-gauge train derailed in the city, halting train communication between Dhaka and Narayanganj.
