Death anniv of Kamaluddin observed

The 8th death anniversary of Advocate Alhaj Kamaluddin Ahmed Khan, a former member of the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association, was observed on August 1, says a press release.

His relatives, friends and well-wishers were asked to pray for salvation of his soul.

Kamaluddin, father of Anis A Khan, former managing director and CEO of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd, was a philanthropist.

He was born in Chattogram on February 19, 1927. He passed BA from Chittagong College in 1947 and obtained the LLB degree in 1962 from Chittagong Law College.

He was awarded "The Governor of Bengal Medal" in 1942 for his service in Assam during the Second World War. He also served as port commissioner of Chittagong Port and as Honorary Chief Warden of Civil Defence, Chittagong.

He founded Patharghata Girls High School.
