Deputy Attorney General Debashish Bhattacharyya has resigned from his office.
"I have tendered resignation on personal reasons. I submitted the resignation letter to the attorney general's office on Wednesday for forwarding it to the president," he told The Daily Star yesterday.
He refused to specify the reason behind his resignation, saying, "You are not entitled to know."
On October 11 last year, Murad Reza and Momtaz Uddin Fakir resigned from the offices of additional attorney general. At present, the attorney general, one additional attorney general, 65 deputy attorney generals and 151 assistant attorney generals move cases on behalf of the state.
