Charge-sheet against Lokman in narcotics case
Police yesterday filed the charge-sheet in a case lodged under Narcotics Control Act against Lokman Hossain, director in-charge of Mohammedan Sporting Club.
Detective Branch (DB) of police Inspector Md Abdul Matin filed the charge sheet before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masud Ur Rahman.
The court, after receiving the charge sheet, transferred the case to Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court for further proceedings.
A team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-2) arrested Lokman, also a director of Bangladesh Cricket Board, from his Tejgaon Monipuripara house on the night of September 25 for running a casino by renting out a part of his club. Rab also recovered four bottles of foreign liquor from his home.
Rab filed a case against him with Tejgaon Police Station under Narcotics Control Act and handed him over to police on September 26.
Rab sources said Lokman during primary interrogation confessed to earning crores from the casino at Mohammedan Club and deposited the money in two Australian bank accounts.
