Book on Pranab Mukherjee published
A tribute book written on former Indian president and a true friend of Bangladesh Pranab Mukherjee, highlighting his life and contribution, was published through a webinar in Dhaka yesterday.
Writer Salam Azad edited the book titled "Bharat Ratna Shri Pranab Mukherjee Smarak Grantha". Publishing Department of Soheli Mirza Cancer Foundation, which published the book, organised the webinar.
"This is my tribute to Pranab Mukherjee. This volume is not for sale. But a person and organisation can collect it," said Azad.
Pranab served as the 13th president of India from 2012 to 2017. He was the first Bangalee president of the India.
In a political career spanning five decades, Pranab Mukherjee was a senior leader in the Indian National Congress and occupied several ministerial portfolios in Indian government. He was awarded India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 2019. Pranab Kumar Mukherjee died on August 31, 2020.
The book of over 200 pages contains condolences of different politically and socially important persons across the globe issued after the death of Pranab.
It also contains a good number of articles and photo albums highlighting his life and contributions.
