Book on home minister launched
Eminent personalities and top government officials yesterday showered Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal with love, respect and good wishes on his 69th birthday.
A book titled “Nandito Shorastromontri Bir Muktijoddha Asaduzzaman Khan” was also launched at a ceremony, held at AKM Giasuddin Milky Auditorium in the capital, to mark the occasion.
The book is a collection of essays, written by distinguished personalities, on the minister. It has been published by Panjeree Publications Ltd.
Speaking at the event, National Professor Rafiqul Islam said Asaduzzaman, who is a freedom fighter, has been working tirelessly for the last several years to ensure public security and peace.
“I hope, he will keep up such efforts in the coming days. I wish him success and a long life,” added Prof Rafiqul.
Asaduzzaman said the law and order situation will remain stable, even improve further, if they receive sufficient cooperation from all spheres of society.
Responding to the wishes, the minister said the love and respect he received from such renowned personalities made him elated and humbled.
Eminent writer Selina Hossain, Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milon, former caretaker government advisor AR Khan, Home Ministry Senior Secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin, Inspector General of Police Mohammad Javed Patwary, RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed and DMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam also spoke at the event.
