Former state minister and BNP leader AKM Mosharraf Hossain was laid to rest at his family graveyard at Kandigaon village in Mymensingh yesterday.
The BNP leader breathed his last around 8:31pm on Saturday at a hospital in Dhaka. He was 83.
The former president of Mymensingh district BNP (south) had long been suffering from different ailments before being diagnosed with Covid-19.
Party leaders and activists paid tribute when his body was taken to his residence in the city's Gangadas Guha Road yesterday.
Mosharraf was elected MP from Mymensingh-5 (Muktagachha) in 1996 and 2001. He was also the state minister for energy and mineral resources during the BNP regime.
President of Mohammedan Sporting Club in Mymensingh, Mosharraf was also involved with many educational institutions and socio-cultural organisations.
