Belayet Hossain passes away

Md Belayet Hossain, freedom fighter and senior deputy managing director of Bashundhara Group, passed away yesterday morning while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital Dhaka.

He was suffering from old-age complications for a long time, said a press release.

Born in 1950, Belayet was part of Bashundhara Group since its inception, and served in various vital positions. He contributed immensely toward the organisation's development in the last 30 years.

He left behind his wife, three daughters, friends and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

Bashundhara Group Chairperson Ahmed Akbar Sobhan expressed deep sorrow for Beyalet's demise.

"His passing has left a void in our hearts. I am deeply saddened after losing a great friend and co-worker. I pray for his departed soul and give condolences to his bereaved family," he said.
