62 fined for not wearing masks in Barishal

Barishal District Administration yesterday fined 62 people Tk 11,200 in total for not wearing masks in the city, to check the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Three mobile courts took the action in drives from morning to afternoon at various important points of the city including Bibir Pukur, Sadar Road and Chawkbazar areas, said officials.

The fined people include pedestrians, rickshaw-pullers, and three-wheeler drivers as they did not wear masks at that time.

Executive Magistrate Subrata Kumar Das, spokesperson of the district administration, said the campaign was aimed at making people aware of the coronavirus pandemic. He assured of continuing such drives.
