4th death anniv of Dr Syed Yousuf Hassan
Today is the fourth death anniversary of Dr Syed Yousuf Hassan, an active participant in the Language Movement of 1952.
He was one of the founding members of National Awami Party (NAP-Muzaffar) and was active in the progressive movements of the country during that time.
The Pakistani government had confiscated his passport and had his citizenship cancelled while he was abroad.
He visited China in 1952 to attend the Asia Pacific Peace Conference with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Ataur Rahman among other prominent individuals.
He was honoured by Bangla Academy, Shilpakala Academy and many other organisations for his contributions to the Language Movement, says a press release.
