11 children's books with moral stories launched

Eleven children's books with short moral stories and colourful graphic arts were launched during a meeting at Biam auditorium in the capital yesterday.

The books will broaden the minds of children by enriching their imagination power, said renowned cultural personality Sara Zaker at the discussion meeting titled "Standard Education and Skills in Mother Tongue".

Room to Read, a non-profit international organisation working for improving literacy and gender equality, organised the event marking the International Mother Language Day.

Chairman (in-charge) of National Curriculum and Textbooks Board Dr Ratan Siddique, Additional Director General of Directorate of Primary Education Dr Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal and one of the writers Md Rahamatullah were present at the discussion.

Rakhi Sarkar, country director of Room to Read, chaired the meeting.
