Manikganj sixth grader dies of dengue

A sixth grader from Manikganj has died last night after being diagnosed with dengue.

Deceased Rubaiya Aktar, daughter of Abdur Rashid of Manikganj’s Shibalay upazila and student of Rupsha Wahed Ali High School, breathed her last at Dhaka’s Shaheed Suhrawardi Medical College and Hospital, said the school’s Headmaster Mohiuddin Ahmed.

The dengue patient was first taken to Manikganj District Hospital around 2:15pm yesterday, our local correspondent reports quoting Nargis Akhter, senior staff nurse at the hospital.

But doctors at the hospital referred her to Dhaka’s Shaheed Suhrawardi Medical College and Hospital where she died later.

Rubaiya’s burial was completed at her hometown after the namaz-e-janaza on the premises of her school around 10:00am, the headmaster added.
