Another victim, who was severely burnt in Wednesday’s factory fire in Keraniganj, died at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka this morning, raising the death toll to 14.
Asad, 16, who was on life support with 55 per cent burns, succumbed at the institute around 7:30am, Dr Samanta Lal Sen, chief coordinator of the Burn Units across the country, told The Daily Star.
At least one worker was killed and 33 others were injured in the fire that broke out at Prime Pet and Plastic Industries set up in a residential area of Chunkutia in Keraniganj on Wednesday.
Later, 12 more people succumbed to their injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Among the injured, nine are on life support at the ICU of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery while condition of nine others were stated to be critical at the high dependency unit of the DMCH.
