Bangladeshi police peacekeepers need more skills: UN official
Bangladesh Police officials are playing a unique role to maintain peace in war-ravaged countries but they need to acquire more skills like learning French in the face of challenges of the United Nations peacekeeping missions.
Jean Pierre Lacroix, under-secretary-general of department of peacekeeping mission of the UN, made the remark while meeting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary at the Police Headquarters on Sunday, says a press release. During the meeting, the IGP requested the UN to increase participation of the Bangladeshi police personnel in the missions.
