FBCCI seminar focuses on energy security and development in Bangladesh

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) recently organised a seminar titled "Power and Energy Scenario in Bangladesh: Ensuring Energy Security for Development" at its office in the capital's Motijheel.
The seminar served as a vital platform for stakeholders in the energy sector to collaborate, share knowledge, and exchange ideas to enhance energy security and resilience in Bangladesh.
Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, attended the seminar as the chief guest, according to a press release.
The energy adviser said that steps have already been taken to purchase basic energy through open tenders. This provides an opportunity to purchase energy at competitive prices.
In his welcome speech, Alamgir Morshed, executive director and CEO of the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), underscored the crucial role that energy plays in driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for citizens.
Md Enamul Karim Pavel, director of loans and head of the renewable energy programme at IDCOL, presented the keynote, offering insights into renewable energy initiatives and how they can contribute to national development.
Jalal Ahmed, chairman of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission, and Khandker Md Abdul Hye, chairman of the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority, along with business leaders and other dignitaries, were also present at the seminar.
