Emranul reappointed Dhaka Bank MD
Dhaka Bank has reappointed Emranul Huq to the post of managing director and chief executive officer for a three-year term effective from February 22, 2022.
The Bangladesh Bank also accorded approval to the reappointment, a press release said. He took over the helm of the bank in February 2020.
A career banker, Huq has more than three decades of professional banking experience, both at home and abroad.
He started his career with Bank of Credit and Commerce International in 1986 as a management trainee officer.
He also worked at Eastern Bank Ltd and Credit Africa Bank Ltd in Zambia in various capacities before joining Dhaka Bank in 1998.
He is a certified corporate banker and a fellow of the American Academy of Financial Management.
Huq is a member of the standing committee on banking technique and practice of the International Chamber of Commerce, Bangladesh and the board of governors of the Association of Bankers Bangladesh Ltd.
He obtained his bachelor's degree in management from the University of Dhaka and master's degree in business administration from the American International University-Bangladesh.
