City Bank holds memorial for late Anwar Hossain
City Bank Limited has recently organised a mourning and remembrance event in memory of late Anwar Hossain, former chairman of the bank and founder and chairman of the Anwar Group of Industries, at the bank's head office in Dhaka.
The bank's Managing Director and CEO Mashrur Arefin presided over the event, said a press release.
Director Rajibul Huq Chowdhury, eldest son of late Anwar Hossain and Chairman of the Anwar Group of Industries Manwar Hossain, younger son and Vice Chairman of City Bank Hossain Khaled, second son and Director of the bank Hossain Mehmood and former managing director and CEO of the bank Abbas Uddin Ahmed were present.
"Anwar Hossain's vision was not just to grow the business, but he used to keep an eye on the marginal income group of society. He was at the same time kind, patriotic, an ideal child and an ideal father," said Aziz Al Kaiser, chairman of City Bank Limited.
A video on late Anwar Hossain's life was exhibited. The discussants spoke about late Anwar Hossain's career and reminisced his contribution to the private banking sector in Bangladesh.
At the end of the remembrance, prayers were offered seeking eternal peace and well-being of the deceased soul.
The prayer session was conducted by Md Anwar Hosain Molla, chairman of City Bank Shariah Supervisory Committee.
