Upper ceiling of investment in two US dollar related bonds removed
The government has removed the upper ceiling of investment in two US dollar related bonds to enable non-resident Bangladeshis to invest as much as they want, according to a notification of the Internal Resources Division (IRD).
The rate of interest, however, has been reduced depending on slabs of investment, according to the notification, which comes the time when Sri Lanka is grappling with depleting foreign currency reserves.
Earlier, the non-resident Bangladeshis could invest US dollar equivalent to Tk 1 crore in US Dollar premium bond and US dollar investment bond, said an official of the IRD.
