Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan joins LR Global’s advisory board

Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has joined the advisory board of LR Global Bangladesh to promote its financial literacy activities and attracting foreign investments.

Along with the world's one of the best allrounder, the country's chess grandmaster Niaz Murshed and sports journalist Rezaur Rahman Shohag also joined the board.

LR Global Bangladesh is an asset management company that manages six closed end mutual funds, which is currently managing assets over Tk 1,100 crore.

Mutual funds pool together the money from many investors and channel it into securities such as stocks, bonds and other assets. Once profits are logged, the fund manager disburses it among the unit holders.

The fund manager organised an event to celebrate its 10th anniversary and announce the advisory board on Saturday night at The Westin Dhaka.

"We are very happy to include such famous players in our advisory board who will work to promote our financial literacy programme," said Reaz Islam, CEO of LR Global Bangladesh.

The board will work to attract foreign fund to the country, he said, adding that they want to utilise their worldwide familiarity.

About the LR's performance, Islam said the company has been paying dividend continuously to their investors despite many challenges.
