Stocks rebound strongly
Bangladesh stocks rebounded strongly today amid investors' optimism after the central bank and the stock market regulator agreed to resolve their disputes.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), soared 126 points, or 1.88 per cent, to 6,829 until 12 pm.
At the DSE, 342 stocks advanced, 13 fell and 12 were unchanged.
Earlier, Bangladesh Bank and Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission ordered listed banks and non-bank financial institutions in the opposite direction which impacted investors confidence.
But, in a meeting between the two regulators yesterday, they reached a single goal.
Today, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also skyrocketed. The CASPI, the main index of the port city bourse, rose 301 points, or 1.53 per cent, to 19,915.
