Stocks continue bull run

Stocks continued soaring for the last five consecutive days, which helped the index to hit a new height crossing 7,000 points.
Today, DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), surged 22 points, or 0.32 per cent, to 7,075 when DS-30, the blue-chip stock index, rose 12 points to 2,546 – the highest levels for both the indices since their inception in 2013.
Turnover, an important indicator of the market, rose to Tk 2,901 crore, up from Tk 2,868 crore the previous day.
At the DSE, 154 stocks advanced, 184 fell and 30 remained unchanged.
Tamijuddin Textile Mills topped the gainers' list that rose 10 per cent followed by ADN Telecom, Eastern Housing, Tosrifa Industries, and Shepherd Industries.
Dominage Steel shed mostly that lost 5.6 per cent followed by Meghna Condensed Milk, Asia Insurance, Alltex Industries and Fine Foods.
Beximco became the top traded stock with shares worth Tk 256 crore changing hands followed by SAIF Powertec, Beximco Pharmaceuticals, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh and Doreen Power.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also rose today. The CASPI, the general index of the port city bourse, edged up 99 points, or 0.48 per cent, to 20,662.
Among the traded 316 stocks, 123 rose, 162 fell and 31 remained unchanged.
