4 Bangladeshis arrested in Libya
Libyan police today arrested four Bangladeshis from Tajoura district, adjacent to Libyan capital Tripoli, for abducting five Bangladeshi migrants.
They demanded a ransom of $32,500 dollars for their release, ASM Ashraful Islam, labour counsellor of Bangladesh embassy in Libya, confirmed The Daily Star.
"We have contacted the Libyan police and will soon meet the victims and help either return home or to the places of their work," he said over phone.
Such incidents of abduction is almost frequent in Libya amid lawlessness in a country in civil war, he added.
