Bangladesh wins best award in Intl trade fair in Nigeria
Bangladesh High Commission received Best Foreign Participant Award at Kaduna International Trade Fair in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Bangladesh mission for the first time participated in the fair from March 29 to April 07 organized by Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture in Abuja, a press release said here today.
In line with the present Government's thrust on 'economic diplomacy', Bangladesh Mission set up a large stall with its own collection of exportable items.
Pharmaceuticals, ceramics, jute and leather products, RMG & knitwear, tea, jute leaf tea, electrical appliances, light engineering, plastic & melamine products, spice & curry powder, pickle, food items, snacks, pearl items, sari (maslin, silk), nakshi kantha, handicrafts, among others, were on display which drew huge crowd each day.
Minister for Industry, Trade and Investments of Nigeria Dr. Okechukwu Enyinna Enelama inaugurated the Fair on March 29 while Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria Md. Shameem Ahsan was present along with diplomats from other countries at the inaugural ceremony.
In view of the huge potentials of the expansion of market of Bangladeshi products and as a part of Mission's on-going commercial drive, the High Commission is in the process of launching a Commercial Display Centre at the Chancery soon.
Nigeria is the largest economy of Africa and the 6th largest producer of oil in the world having a population of 200 million people, the release added.
