Seven men, including a Bangladeshi, died of suspected alcohol poisoning in Malaysia, says Comm Datuk Mazlan Mansor.

The Selangor police chief said the victims - a Malaysian, four Nepalese, an Indian national and a Bangladeshi - died while 16 others have been admitted to several hospitals for treatment.

"The 16 others are a Malaysian, 13 Nepalese and two Bangladeshis.

"We have to further investigate the matter.

"We are waiting for the post-mortem reports of those who died," Comm Mazlan said when contacted on today.

The victims were brought to Sungai Buloh Hospital, Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Banting Hospital, Klang Hospital and Ampang Hospital, Comm Mazlan added.

"We are checking the premises where the drinks are bought from," he said.
