Kamar Ahmad Simon's ‘Neel Mukut’ receives uncut Censor Certificate

Renowned director Kamar Ahmad Simon’s newest endeavour, Neel Mukut, has received the uncut censor certificate. The director recently announced that contrary to his usual releases, the film will first be released locally.

"I believe that international film festivals are definitely important for a director, but films should not be made only for festivals", said the talented director, who has received many international accolades.

Besides receiving Bangladesh’s National Film Award, Kamar’s first film, Are You Listening! received ten international awards, including Cinema Du Reel’s Grand Prix and Mumbai International Film Festival’s Golden Conch. The film was screened in almost fifty international festivals. Alongside producer Sara Afreen, Kamar has been busy with Shikolbaha (Iron Stream) and Anyadin... (Day After…). For the screenplay of much talked Shikolbaha, the director was awarded with prestigious WCF from Berlin International Film Festival. Anyadin... was honored at Piazza Grande, one of the most prestigious stages of world cinema, as the Best Project of Locarno Open Doors.
