Prosenjit Karmakar to perform at Int’l Music and Dance Fest 2019
Promising singer Prosenjit Chandra Karmakar has been invited to perform in the fifth International Music and Dance Festival 2019 to be held in Hyderabad. Organised by Suravi Academy of Performing Arts, around 300 artistes from across the world, including Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Spain and Germany will perform in the festival. Prosenjit is scheduled to perform on June 6. Singer Prosenjit and dancer Kazi Raihan will represent Bangladesh at the festival.
“I have planned to perform a Nazrul Sangeet (Kirttan), a semi-classical genre and a song Tumi Emoni Jaal Petechho Songsare, originally recorded by renowned singer Subir Nandi, at the festival,” said Prosenjit, who seek blessings from all.
Hailing from Barishal, Prosenjit received his first musical lessons from his parents Joyenty Rani Karmakar and Paresh Chandra Karmakar. The singer went on to learn from Gopi Mohan Karmakar, Milon Karmakar, Bizon Chandra Mistry, Suman Chowdhury and Ustad Anil Kumar Saha in Bangladesh.
He regularly takes musical lessons from Pt Tushar Dutta, Pt Gobinda Bose, Vidushi Haimanti Shukla, Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan and Pt Amiya Ranjan Bandyopadhyay in India. The singer keenly follows the rendition style of his Gurumaa, Haimanti Shukla. An enlisted singer of Bangladesh Betar, Prosenjit regularly performs on stage and television channels across Bangladesh and India.
