Lucky Akhand, who is considered as one of the pioneers in the Bangladeshi music industry, was honoured with a Google doodle on his 63rd birth anniversary yesterday. Enlisted as a music composer at a relatively young age, the late musician composed and voiced numerous songs throughout his illustrious career.
In 1971, he joined Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra and supported the Freedom Fighters with his patriotic songs, to boost their spirits during the Liberation War.
His substantial list of timeless hits include the likes of Abar Elo Je Shondha, Polatok Ami, Agey Jodi Jantam, Ei Neel Monihar and many more classics.
Lucky Akhand passed away on April 21, 2017.
