Sarika returns after 3 years
Model-turned-actor Sarika won the hearts of many with her glamourous look and powerful acting. But mid-career, she took a break from the showbiz to resolve some family issues. After three years of her marriage, she recently returned to acting and has not taken much time at all to get busy with Eid plays shoots. The artiste spoke to The Daily Star about her return to the media. Excerpts:
You are coming back after a rather long break. What's it like?
Sarika: I'm feeling very good. It's really a different feeling because this is my world. It seems to me that I have found myself once again and returned home. I took a break for my family and child, but I'm now very happy to be back in front of the camera.
How was the experience of your first work on this second run?
Sarika: I was nervous when I stood in front of the camera for the first shot after three years. It was the play “Ami Tumi” directed by Mostofa Kamal Raj.
How many plays are you working on for Eid?
Sarika: Five or six dramas. Besides, I will work with Mosharraf Karim in a six-episode TV play directed by Abu Hayat Mahmood. I will play the role of film star in the play.
What's your dream at present?
Sarika: I can understand that how much people miss me after my three-year gap from media. I don't really have much to ask for, because I'm flooded with people's love. From now on, I just want to do some good work and want to be regular on the small screen.
What's your plan for Eid?
Sarika: I will stay at home on the day and spend time with my family for the next ten days, as I have busy shooting schedule until the last day before Eid.
