I have no grudges against anyone
When Kalyan Corraya made his debut in 2007, he quickly rose to popularity as a TV actor and model. Since then, he has done four films, adding important milestones to his growing career. For two and a half years, he was battling false charges that placed him in a grievous situation. The actor speaks about his legal battle, current engagements and more.
There was a controversial incident that you were implicated in. Has your name been cleared?
There was no evidence pointing towards any of my involvement in the issue, yet I was put to trial. I had to limit my work just because of this. For months at a time, I couldn't even step out of my house. Last month, I was cleared of all charges by the CMM Court, and I would like to thank God for everything.
How did your family deal with this issue?
Recently, I lost my father. He left us without getting to know this good news. My parents were always honest people, and they had said that if I had any fault in the matter, they would turn me in themselves. However, they had faith in me.
How are you settling back into work?
I am trying to get regular projects now. I will never get back the two and a half years that I lost, and my career faced a downward spiral as a result of it. I recently returned from Nepal after filming a few tele-fictions. I am trying my hardest to make up for the lost time.
Do you have any hard feelings towards anyone?
I honestly don't. I want everyone to do well. As an artiste, it is my duty to serve everyone in this country, so I have no grudges against anyone.
