“My favorite place to celebrate Puja is Rajshahi”

Bidya Sinha Mim is a one of the most recognizable faces in the country's show business, moving from strength to strength ever since winning the Channel i Lux Superstar beauty pageant. Now an established actor as well as a model, she has regular starring appearances in both films and TV plays. The Daily Star recently caught up with the star, about her plans for Durga Puja. Excerpts below:

“I plan to spend Puja in Dhaka this year, unlike before where I used to always leave the city. I have also spent the Puja festivities in Kolkata before, but this year, shooting for 'Pashan' has been scheduled right after Puja, which will not allow me time for travel. To be honest, I do not particularly enjoy spending Puja in Dhaka. There is more scope to have fun outside the city with loved ones.”

“This year, I will be spending the festival with my entire family. I will spend the day with my younger sister and friends visiting the mandap to pay our respects, and other places.”

“I have not had the opportunity to do my shopping in advance due to shooting schedules, as well as undertaking a recent trip to Australia. Right now I am busy with shopping for myself and the family, and hopefully it will all be ready in time. I usually don the sari for Puja, but when going out I wear clothes according to my mood.”

“My favorite place to celebrate Puja festival is in Rajshahi, which is my maternal grandparents' home. Unfortunately, this year only my mother is going to Rajshahi. I will miss all my loved ones. Had I been there, the time would have been spent in catching up with family and friends.”

“I would like to reach out to all my fans during the holy festival and send them my blessings and prayers. I hope they are all well.”
