Twenty science and technology, and general public universities will start holding centralised admission tests from October 17.
The Vice Chancellors of these universities at a meeting today decided that the admission tests will be held in three days, according to a statement issued by the uniform admission test authority.
The admission test for science students will take place on October 17, while candidates of B unit for humanities students will sit for the test on October 24 and aspirants of C unit for business students will sit for the exams on November 1.
More than 3.61 lakh aspirants are expected to sit for the admission tests.
The universities agreed earlier to hold the test titled "Central Admission Test" to reduce the hassle faced by admission seekers.
The new method of admission has been in discussion since 2010. It was aimed at relieving admission seekers from having to travel to different universities in different parts of the country.
