Islamic University to start final exams from Sept 12

The Islamic University authorities have approved the commencement of Honours-Masters final examinations online or in-person from September 12.
However, the university dorms will remain closed during the exams.
The decision was taken today at an emergency meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Sheikh Abdus Salam, said the acting registrar of the university Ataur Rahman.
He said that the regular Honours-Masters finals, retakes, partial or remaining course finals, as well as viva or practical exams, will be held online or in-person from September 12.
The departments which have completed the term exams or do not have batches, can conduct examinations of other batches, said Ataur Rahman.
The acting registrar also mentioned that no department can take more than one test on the same day. Students willing to sit for in-person exams without availing dorm facilities would be able to attend exams physically.
In this regard, Pro VC Prof Mahbubur Rahman said that the departments will be able to take the exams of different academic years physically based on priority. Students won't get residential facilities. So, the departments can also conduct online exams if they want.
Earlier, on August 17, the university administration approved online final exams for Honours and Masters, along with a policy to conduct online tests.
Several departments completed online tests following the exam policy.
