World Child Cancer donates PPEs to cancer doctors in Bangladesh

World Child Cancer (WCC), a UK-based charity organisation, has extended its helping hand to the doctors and nurses involved in cancer treatment in Bangladesh amid Covid-19.
The organisation has donated about 210 sets of high quality PPE materials and provided them to the oncology departments of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital, Dhaka Children's Hospital and the National Institute of Cancer Research Hospital.
The PPE was handed over to the heads of the oncology departments of these institutions.
Professor Dr Md Amirul Morshed Khasru, head of the department of pediatric hematology and oncology of DMCH, said the PPE materials will help to protect their physicians providing services to children with cancer. He hoped that WCC will continue its support in the near future.
Jewel Ahmed, programme coordinator of WCC, said every child with cancer has the right to access treatment.
"To ensure the treatment during this critical situation, it is a moral responsibility to stand by the doctors in this critical time in Bangladesh and we will continue to provide this assistance in the future," he added.
WCC has been operating its activities in Bangladesh since 2012 and is now implementing a project "Improving pediatric oncology in Bangladesh" in seven hospitals across the country in collaboration with ASHIC (A non-profit organisation).
