Two killed, three injured in separate road accidents in Dinajpur

Two people, including a motorcyclist, were killed and three others injured in two road accidents in Dinajpur this morning, police said.

In Phulbari, a motorcyclist died and three others injured after a tractor lost control and struck him near Chintamon village on the Phulbari-Madilahat road around 9:30am.

Sagar Hossain, 24, of Horogobindapur village under Phulbari upazila, was an office assistant at Malancha Government Primary School, said Khandakar Muhibbul Islam, officer-in-charge of Phulbari Police Station.

Sagar died at the spot. Two pillion riders and the tractor driver were also injured in the incident. They have been transferred to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for treatment.

In Biral upazila, a 55-year-old man, identified as Momotaz Ali from Dogachhi village, was killed after a speeding tractor hit him at on the Dinajpur-Biral road.

Police are investigating both incidents. No cases have been filed yet.
