An ex-Saudi intelligence chief described Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman "a psychopath" during an interview with CBS News that aired a few days prior to US President Joe Biden visiting the Kingdom.

Saad Aljabri, who was once the second-in-command in Saudi intelligence, warned that the crown prince's immense wealth makes him a threat to the US and other countries, reports NDTV.

He termed the crown prince a "killer with infinite resources". He further added that Salman runs a vicious gang of mercenaries called the "Tiger Squad" that carries out kidnappings and killings.

"I am here to sound the alarm about a psychopath, killer, in the Middle East with infinite resources, who poses threat to his people, to the Americans and to the planet," Aljabri told CBS News in the interview that aired on Sunday (July 10, 2022).

"A psychopath with no empathy, doesn't feel emotion, never learned from his experience. And we have witnessed atrocities and crimes committed by this killer," he further added.

The former intel chief was a long-time advisor to Mohammed bin Nayef – ousted as Saudi Crown Prince in June 2017 and replaced with Salman.

Aljabri, fearing for his life fled to Canada, where he lives now in exile.

As per the CBS report, Aljabri sued the Saudi crown prince in a Washington DC court in 2020, alleging that Salman sent a hit squad to kill him in Toronto in 2018 – two weeks after the assassination of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul.

Talking to CBS, he said that he expected to be killed by the crown prince one day because he has access to sensitive information about the government and the royal family. "This guy will not rest until he sees me dead."

Responding to the interview, the Saudi embassy in the United States termed Aljabri a "discredited former government official with a long history of fabricating and creating distractions to hide the financial crimes he committed".
