OMAR KHAYYÁM
18 May 1048 – 4 December 1131
Celebrated Persian philosopher Omar Khayyám was a mathematician, astronomer, and poet. He also wrote treatises on mechanics, geography, mineralogy, music, and Islamic theology.
"There was a door
to which I found no key:
There was the veil
through which I might
not see.
Be happy for
this moment.
This moment
is your life.
A hair divides what is false and true.
The moving finger writes, and having
written moves on. Nor all thy piety nor
all thy wit, can cancel half a line of it."
