Huawei introduces energy storage system in Bangladesh

Huawei has unveiled a new energy storage system (ESS) in Bangladesh at the Huawei Digital Power Partner Summit 2025, held at the Huawei Bangladesh Academy in Dhaka.
According to a statement released by Huawei Bangladesh, the LUNA2000-215 system uses advanced hybrid cooling algorithms and a next-generation liquid and air cooling mechanism to maintain stability and energy efficiency. It offers a round-trip efficiency of 91.3 percent, while its Pack-Level Optimisation 2.0 allows for real-time energy balancing without the usual limitations of charge and discharge cycles.
Huawei claims the system increases usable energy by approximately two percent over its lifecycle by mitigating performance inconsistencies between battery cells.
Ni Xiaopeng (Liam), Managing Director of Huawei South Asia Digital Power Business, said, "Our new energy storage system has been launched to enhance the efficiency and reliability of solar power plants in Bangladesh. As a result, it will be possible to generate more renewable energy at a lower cost."
According to a press release, Huawei has been involved in the renewable energy sector in Bangladesh since 2021. Its recent projects include a 100-megawatt solar plant in Mymensingh and the development of the country's first large-scale microgrid in Monpura Upazila of Bhola, with a generation capacity of 22 megawatts. In 2023, the company completed over 72 solar rooftop installations at private institutions, and in 2024, it launched five additional digital power products.
