Grameen Intel Social Business introduces agro-software in Nepal
World's first IT social business company Grameen Intel Social Business Ltd. (GISB) has recently organized a training session for farmers and entrepreneurs in Nepal in association with High Value Agricultural project (HVAP) of the Government of Nepal and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The session was designed towards introducing information and communication technology (ICT) as a promising way to help farmers make smart use of the limited resources available to maximize productivity and profits. Pavel Hoq -Chief Operating Officer, Srinivas Garudachar - Director, Strategic Business Development, Saqif Nayeem Khan - Project Officer of Grameen Intel Social Business (GISB) along with other officials of HVAP and IFAD were present at the five daylong training sessions in the Regional Livestock Service Directorate of Shurkhet, Nepal.
Rocket Internet Bangladesh management meets the Press
German Internet giant, Rocket Internet (RI) has started to expand its business in Bangladesh. Already Lamudi and Carmudi, the premiere products of RI, have gained much public attention after its initial launch last October. Currently it has four sites in operation in Bangladesh. In a press meet recently, Lamudi Managing Director David Zwagemaker explained how Lamudi was making a difference by helping the users interested to buy/rent a property through their site. 'Lamudi verifies each and every ads placed in the site; which helps both buyer and seller to sale/rent their properties easily' he said. Alexander Keil, one of the co-founder of Lamudi, added 'By 2014 we intend to expand our operation in divisional cities as well'. On Carmudi, the car selling site of RI, Jakob Gillmann said that using carmudi.com, options to buy a car does not limit a buyer in to the few cars available in the nearest showroom.
