Bangladesh's garment makers' platform BGMEA has recently said the international buyers are cancelling or putting on hold work orders.

But we know that garment exports to Europe, Bangladesh's biggest export destination, rose 42 per cent year-on-year in the January-October period of 2022 and to the USA it posted an over 50 per cent year-on-year rise.

For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel.

Then, why are garment export orders getting cancelled? What is the problem? What are the garment exporters saying about its solution?

In today's Straight from Star Newsroom, Khondoker Md Shoyeb discusses the issue with The Daily Star's Reporter Refayet Ullah Mirdha.
