After suffering three straight losses in their first three matches of the Bangladesh Premier League 2023, Khulna Tigers ended their winless run with a nine-wicket win over Rangpur Riders at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday.

The win put Yasir Ali Chowdhury's side level on two points with Comilla Victorians and Dhaka Dominators.

Opting to field first, Khulna bundled out Rangpur for 129 as Pakistani recruits Wahab Riaz and Amad Butt picked up seven wickets between them with the former returning with four wickets for 14 runs for which he was adjudged the player of the match.

In reply, opener Tamim Iqbal finally was able to find his touch and anchored his side to victory with a 47-ball 60 where he hit two sixes and four boundaries as Khulna scored 130-1 with 10 balls to spare.

At the other end, right-handed batter Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored a steady 42-ball 38.
