Kamal Babu handed one-year suspension

Rahmatganj MFS coach Kamal Babu has been banned from all football activities for one year, effective from Tuesday, after being found guilty of entering the ground unlawfully during the semifinal match of Independence Cup between Rahmatganj and Chittagong Abahani on February 6.
The disciplinary committee of the Bangladesh Football Federation took the decision after scrutinising reports of the match commissioner, the referee and media reports. Kamal Babu had sought apology for his deeds after being show-caused.
The veteran coach entered the ground to argue with referee Sujit Banarjee after Chittagong Abahani were awarded a penalty during the match, leading to a stoppage of play for nearly 10 minutes.
The coach has also been fined Tk 2 lakh and has been asked to deposit it to the BFF account within 30 days.
However, the AFC B licensed coach will have an opportunity to appeal against the decision. When contracted, Kamal Babu refused to make any comment as he is yet to get the official letter of the penalty.
